Swifties have been joking that this year's Billboard Music Awards should just be renamed the Taylor Swift 1989 Awards presented by Billboard, and with her leading the finalists with 14 nominations, I wouldn't be surprised if it turns out to be. I've listed my predictions for selected awards, as well as who I hope wins.
I didn't end up posting any singles rundowns between August and October, so I figure that it'd be a good idea to compile a bunch of the singles released recently for more posts. In this post: Sheppard, lots of Meghan Trainor, One Direction, Ed Sheeran, Taylor Swift, etc.
My feelings about Katy Perry as an artist and/or person have always been ambivalent at best. A friend dragged me to see her movie two summers ago, so I learned way more than I ever needed to know about the pop princess. I follow a lot of Youtube artists, so a few months ago, my "subscriptions" tab exploded with covers of Roar, Unconditionally, and Dark Horse. They were pretty good songs, although I didn't like the rap verse on Dark Horse much, but I decided to review the album.
